Position Description
The Product Owner represents the interests of all stakeholders, users, and clients, and is responsible for communicating the feature and story requirements, as well as collaborating closely with the team during planning and review ceremonies. The Product Owner drives the Agile Team in creating and prioritizing the team's sprint Backlog, provides clarification and feedback to the team, and accepts or rejects work results (stories/tasks). The Product Owner works closely with the Product Management and Agile Teams to define stories and acceptance criteria. They review refined stories prior to Sprint Planning to ensure the intent of the story is well understood and will accept the stories as part of the Definition of Done.
This position can be located remotely anywhere in the U.S.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Works closely with Product Management to create, maintain, and prioritize the team
- Provides input on the PI Backlog during Product Management collaboration sessions
- Attends and represents the Agile Team in all PO Sync meetings with Product Management
- Communicates with other product owners, scrum masters, program leadership,
- Ensures that customer requirements are accurately captured, prioritized, and
- Coordinates and participates in requirements gathering and analysis efforts with the
- Interfaces directly with clients and users, as needed, and provides an excellent customer
- Collaborates with the Scrum Master and agile team during PI planning and sprint
- Ensures that the team always has an adequate amount of previously prepared stories
- Leads Backlog refinement efforts
- Is present at and participates in all Agile team ceremonies
- Maintains Team Backlog in Jira and team spaces in Confluence
- Plays an active role and assists the scrum master in mitigating obstructions impacting
- Actively prepares and participates in PI Planning sessions and aids the team in drafting
- Coordinates dependencies with other POs and works across teams to define and
- Works with Agile coaches, product managers, and PMOs to define portfolio/product
- Aids in defining and implementing user training strategies
- Keeps abreast of Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
- Other Duties as assigned or required
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 10-15 years' experience Facilitating Government Customer and Project Team meetings,
- CSPO or SAFe POPM certification (or able to obtain within two months of hire), or
- Previous Agile experience. Scaled Agile (SAFe) experience preferred.
- Full Life Cycle Software Development experience including requirements, design,
- Agile Development knowledge and experience, preferably in a Scaled Agile setting
- Experience with various collaboration tools, including (but not limited to) JIRA,
- Experience with facilitation of Agile meetings, including backlog refinement, requirements
- Experience with Epic decomposition and user story writing
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to pay careful attention to detail
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Requires BS degree
